Richard J. Neeson Richard J. Neeson is president and chief executive officer of AmeriHealth Administrators, one of the largest national third party administrators serving over 400,000 plan members and managing over $1 billion in benefits. Mr. Neeson is also president and chief executive officer of Inter-County Hospitalization Plan, Inc. and Inter-County Health Plan, Inc. (Inter-County), a leading Pennsylvania insurer. Mr. Neeson joined AmeriHealth Administrators in 2009 as senior vice president and chief operating officer from Independence Blue Cross (IBC) where he was responsible for supervision of investments in several partially-owned subsidiaries. He was appointed as the president and CEO of AmeriHealth Administrators in 2010. He has been a member of the AmeriHealth Administrators board of directors since 1993. Mr. Neeson is chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Vita 34 International AG, Leipzig, Germany, an umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation company. He joined IBC in 1993 as president and CEO of QCC, Inc., the holding company for IBC’s for-profit subsidiaries. He also served as president and CEO of NewSeasons Assisted Living Communities. Throughout his career, Mr. Neeson has been primarily responsible for acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including negotiations, contract development and oversight. Mr. Neeson has over 25 years’ experience in the health care/services industry including serving as chief executive officer at Keystone Ventures, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pennsylvania Blue Shield. He also worked for Coopers & Lybrand and Peabody International Corporation, a diversified New York Stock Exchange company as vice president of corporate development and communications. Mr. Neeson graduated from the University of Notre Dame where he received a bachelor degree in economics and earned his MBA in finance/management from the University of Connecticut. |
